My Birthday Fiesta
First of all... this post is super duper late and I can't even begin to explain why. Better late than never, right?! So I'm a Cinco De Mayo baby, I've always loved that my birthday falls on such a celebratory day. It just adds to the excitement and creates an instant theme!!When I was in elementary school every year on my birthday my mom would bring a piñata to my class and it was such a fun tradition. She also had a traditional mexican dress that she made me wear a couple years. I hated it back then but it's definitely something I would do to my kids, lol.My husband Mike wanted to initiate a party for me. He just felt like I deserved it, I guess (lol). He sent out the cute invite: Which I will show below. This is about where he stopped though (lol). We're lucky to have a backyard space that can accommodate nice size parties but he knows I'm all about designing beautiful events and I went to Pinterest and starting making plans! No event would be complete without a few crisis. Honestly, the date snuck up on me and the weekend before all of Amazon, Party City, and Hobby Lobby were fresh out of fiesta decor until after cinco de mayo. Luckily, I had some things from a Fiesta we did years prior. For the rest, I ended up running all over town looking for things that would work. The table runners were so hard to find and the ones I ended up ordering were too short. So, Pier 1, TJ Maxx, and Walmart ( also my mother-in-law) came through in the clutch for most of what I needed. We had such a blast and I was so pleased how everything turned out. Hope you guys love it as much as I did!
