NYFW Day 2
Wanted to share with you guys perhaps one of my favorite looks eva! I pulled together this super girly pink and frilly look for day 2 of Curvycon/NYFW. It did require a little ingenuity but it came together and got so much love!
Pink Lane Bryant Blazer / (similar) / Tulle Dress /Velvet Shoes / Gucci Belt
When I found this tulle dress in the straight size section on ASOS.com I knew that I had to have it (especially being less than $40). At that time I didn't know exactly how I would wear it but I got it along with a bunch of other things lol.First of all, let me say that I got the 14 with fit me perfectly. The top was actually a little big in the chest area but the bottom fit perfectly. It was not restricting at all. I knew that by ordering a 14 it would be a risk but that's what free returns are for.Once it arrived and I tried it on I was like, it needs a jacket. I tried on my faithful black moto and it was cute but then I thought, what would Blair @blaireadiebee do? I instantly thought of the pink blazers I have, one being this pink double breast one from Lane Bryant. When I tried it on the color was a perfect match but the proportions were off. It needed to be cropped. I jumped on the phone and started calling seamstresses and a church member came to my rescue 3 days before NYFW. She hemmed the jacket and the rest is history. All that to say you can work and re-work pieces in your closet!! Take a second look at some of your things and think about how a little tweak can make a whole new look.P.S. My altered jacket was spotted by the CEO and lead designer of Lane Bryant at Curvycon. They were like, why didn't we think of that, lol![showshopthepostwidget id="3276993"]Wore look for my panel discussion at CurvyconBefore alteration. Looks totally different, huh?[showshopthepostwidget id="3276993"]
