Pattern Mixing with Oversized Stripes & Florals
I recently did a try on in the dressing room at my local Target. I was so excited because their were a plethora of Plus Size Who What Wear items in the store... this was definitely a first for my store. I tried on a lot of the styles (some of you watch on IG Stories) and ended up purchasing most of it. I usually have to either purchase online or have to sift through the small rack of online returns in hopes that there is something in my size. I hope the in store availability continues and we can start to have a shopping experience like our straight sized friends.Let's talk about this outfit. You guys know Im a sucker for prints. A lot of times when I wear prints the comments I get from other plus size women is, "I'll look like a couch if I wear that", or "I'll look like a big cat if I wear leopard". Girl, you won't look like either!! You will look like a big girl wearing a print and that's ok! You will also look like a fashionable woman. Even if you still feel like a walking couch, who cares?! Wear what you want and wear it unapologetically. So for those who want to wear prints or even mix prints but not sure how to I have a easy trick. Mix patterns with similar color schemes. This outfit works because both items have black and white in them. This floral bomber also came in polka dot and that would have worked also. Take baby steps until you're comfortable enough to go crazy.Try to step outside of your comfort stone this week when you get dressed. Because you are "getting dressed" you will look great.A note about the sizing: the skirt has a non stretch but it does run large. My hips require me to cut the lining out but most people won't. The jacket is true to size.
