My Secret to Creating Effortless Waves

Hey Guys,So for the past seven years I have been wearing my hair the same way, loose waves. It took me a while to perfect the waves because I had the wrong tool. I was trying to use my curling iron to get he effortless waves and I was failing. I realized I needed a curling wand and some really great products. The curling wand and quality hair products literally changed the way I curled and styled my hair and I haven’t looked back. This is what you need to do to get effortless waves.Step 1. Clean HairI like to start with fresh hair. I like to use a good shampoo and conditioner. One of my favorites is Living Proof frizz free shampoo and conditioner  and one of my new favorites ( I love all of their products) are the  OUAI  shampoo   and conditioner . Of course clean hair is optimal but not always practical. If you don’t have time to wash and blow dry your hair make sure you’re hair is detangled and use a little dry shampoo if you need it. My favorite dry shampoo is from Living Proof .Step 2. ProtectHeat protectant is essential to styling your hair. It is usually a serum or a spray and you put it on your hair when its wet before you blow dry or use any heat on your hair. I like to use it more heavily on my ends than my crown but I do put it all over. Gotta protect the mane! This is a good one http://bit.ly/2O2LeZeStep 3. Give it a whirl Having a good wand is so essential to achieving the curls you want. I have the T3 and I absolutely love it. I ended up buying the Whirl Trio  which is the set of interchangeable barrel sizes. I normally use the 1 inch barrel unless I'm curling my long hair. In that case I use the 1.5 inch barrel. Before I start curling I section my hair off into 4 sections. I start with one section and start to curl 1-2 inch sections of hair. To achieve the effortless wave you’ll want to use at least the 1 inch barrel. Wrap your hair around the barrel until you have about 1 inch of hair left. If you completely wrap your hair (1 you’ll burn your fingers 2) you’ll end up with Shirley temple curls.Repeat until you finished the bottom layer. Move to the top layer and finish curling.Step 4. Ready, set, go!Now you’re all done with your curls so now it’s time to spray them. I love the Oribe superfine hairspray. I love all of their products but the hairspray works well and smells even better! Smells bougie!Seems like a lot at first but once you get  it down it's like clockwork! It takes me about 15 minutes to curly my entire head. Nordstrom is a one stop shop for beauty products and everything I use can be purchased there. I would especially check out Ouai and Oribe. I recently bought a bunch of Ouai products to try out and love everything I've tried so far. Oribe is on the pricier side but its soooo worth it. Shop the products I use in the widget.[showshopthepostwidget id="3893469"]This post is sponsored by Nordstrom. As always, all opinions are my own.
