Remember when we told you that our Creative Director, Jodi Arnold, has a style crush on Rochelle from Beauticurve? We were so impressed by her natural instinct for style that she’s become our latest Style Muse! She came to visit our office in NYC where she selected her favorite styles from our pre-fall collection, Green Envy.
Because true style extends beyond individual pieces, we asked Rochelle to put together her picks for a shoot in the streets of Gramercy Park. If you think stripes are only for nautical moments, her combinations of leopard, floral, and perforated faux leather will convince you otherwise. Be inspired by her pairings (photos, above) or create your own looks from her expert selection.
Her bold approach was such an inspiration that we had to ask Rochelle even more questions, including the lightning round we had so much fun with during our interview with Allison from Curvy Girl Chic.
ELOQUII: Has your style changed since you started Beauticurve?
Rochelle: Not dramatically. If anything I’ve just become more confident in my wardrobe choices and have been a bit more adventurous when it comes to trying new looks.
E: What’s the most common question your readers ask?
R: I always get asked about advice for starting a blog. I always answer – Just go for it! I didn’t have a “Mission Statement” or a 5 year plan when I started. I just wanted to share.
E: What’s one trend that you can’t stop loving and one trend that you won’t try again?
R: So, I’m obsessed with distressed boyfriend jeans (ELOQUII note: we have some hot new denim coming soon - stay tuned!). I want to wear them every day. I’ve been over the overall trend since my 13th birthday party… they had Mickey and the gang on them…tragic.
E: What trends are you most looking forward to this fall?
R: I love a Cape. Can’t wait to wrap up in one. I also am looking forward to holding on to my heavier crop tops by adding a crisp button down.
E: Do you have any hobbies?
R: I love to travel. Eat out. Shop. Workout. Hunt for recipes on Pinterest.
And now for the style lightning round!
Leopard or zebra?
Sweater or sweatshirt?
Jumpsuit or pant suit?
Pleated or pencil?
Black or camel?
Ankle booties or sneakers?
East coast or west coast?
West coast - of course! Born & raised!
Curly or straight?
AND THEN THERE WAS: PART II
ELOQUII//NYC & ME
So by now many of you about the time I spent with the ELOQUII team in NYC. While I was there I was able to preview their pre-fall collection “Green Envy”. I spent 1/2 the day as myself - “The Blogger”, and the other half as a “Stylist”.
ELOQUII Creative Director, Jodi gave me the task of us of using pieces from the Green Envy Collection to create 3 sets of looks to take a girl from 85 degree weather to 55 degree weather.
I’m so used to styling myself. It’s a whole other task to style someone else. Luckily, I had another set of eyes on set, my new friend – Stylist, Ashley Falcon. Not to mention the model was kinda hot ;) – Ms. Bree Warren.
We had a blast hitting the streets of NYC. Hope you like how I styled the looks.
ELOQUII//NYC & ME
So I have been holding this in for some time now — I’m sure some of you who follow my IG feed were wondering about my brief stint in NYC?! So, here’s the scoop!
I had the amazing pleasure of visiting the world of ELOQUII! It’s safe to assume that my mind was completely blown when I came on set to style my favorite looks from ELOQUII’s pre-fall collection. When I walked in the studio and laid my eyes on the rack of clothes my hands almost immediately starting touching everything! Gasp! Really, I mean really cute, chic, edgy, and on-trend pieces!
It was so exciting to go through the creative process of being a stylist for a day, and I couldn’t have imagined a better collection to style. Jodi Arnold (the creative director) and the team have done an incredible job of delivering great fashion exclusively for us plus size ladies! It was such an exciting and fun day and therefore I wanted to share it with you all! I am OB-SESSED with how everything turned out!! Stay tuned for more on this trip…

BABE ALERT !!
Who doesn’t want to feel like Kelly Kapowski every now and again?!
The off-the-shoulder trend is back baby! The massive resurgence of off-the-shoulder styles this summer has left me feeling like bearing my clavicles everyday. The look is bohemian-chic, effortless and over the top girly.
Yes, fall is approaching but the heat don’t lie, we’ve still got a ways to go. So let your shoulders breathe a bit while participating in one of this summer’s hottest looks!

The Peplum Hem Skirt Trend
The easiest way to update your skirt game is to add a frilly hemline. This hourglass-enhancing silhouette instantly gives you an incredibly dramatic and chic look.
Today I’m downtown on another interview covering my recent feature in StyleWatch. For this interview I wanted a more ladylike look. My mind went to this killer ASOS peplum hem midi skirt and matching top. I wavered on whether to get the set or just the skirt but obvi opted for the statement floral print on print to really stand out. Of course I can’t wait to play in my wardrobe with these pieces separately.

ALL OVER THE GRID
So today I made my first ever television debut. I spoke about my blog and recent feature in People Stylewatch Mag at a local news station (clip here). Of course my first thought when I was asked to come was — what am I going to wear?! I wanted to look sophisticated, sporty, edgy, yet girly at the same time. So I went to my best friend (the internet) and found this amazing skirt at ASOS.
The grid print, also known as “windowpane,” is a classic yet refreshing graphic. You can easily pull this print off for anything; at the officeor easily transition it for a night out.
If you’re a little over stripes and plaid this may be your next obsession.
NIGHTS LIKE THESE
So I was happy to learn that A’GACI recently launched a plus-size line. The new line has officially unveiled and is available to shop. A’GACI’s new expansion offers sizes up to 3X. This is a welcomed treat for many women looking for a wider range of on trend fashion without blowing the budget.
I chose this bandage style bodycon and this super chic and easy chiffon romper. I was pleased with the fit, feel and quality of both pieces. I figured these pieces would be perf for a date night or for hitting the town with friends.

AMO A MEXICO!!
Hola Amigas! I’m back from the BEST VACATION EVER and wanted to share a little of my vacation style with you guys. Of course some (most) days were lazier than others — in which case I swapped heels and beach waves for flip flops and trashy wet hair. For more vacation pics visit my IG (iambeauticurve).

Sashaying Around the Ritz
It’s pretty much the perfect party dress. So cute it will make you find something to celebrate! ModCloth had me off the bat with this chic, glamorous, playful yet sophisticated number. I’m obessed with stripes, so of course I leaped at the opportunity to wear a striped party dress. With all the summer weddings and parties I plan to attend and due to the fact that all my striped things are more slouchy and cotton, this turned-up version was a welcomed change. One of my favorite things about the dress is that it has hidden pockets! The cut is really flattering but the dress has no stretch and could be a little tight in the chest so if you have a wide rib cage or a big rack, you might want to consider sizing up.
