Bedroom and Guest Room Reveal
This post has been such a long time coming... two years to be exact. After I had the accent wall in our bedroom painted everyone has been asking for a bedroom post. Completing the decor in a room is such a task. Depending on your speed, you can get it done really quickly but I enjoy the hunt so I don’t mind if it takes a little longer. Everything in our old Condo was brown and tan so we basically started over in this home, lol!The first item we purchased was our bed because that a necessity and a double necessity because I was pregnant. Our bedding is the VCNY Home Sterling 14 Piece Comforter Set. It is a Woven textured design with a silver metallic sheen. It included seriously everything including from sheets to a throw blanket for a really great price. The comforter is beautiiful and coordinates well with the rest of decor in our room. The only thing I added on the bed were my own accent pillows. I wanted to pull in a little pink and I fell in love with the antelope pattern on the bolster pillow.The next thing we purchased was our dresser. I really wanted this dresser and it took a couple months for the right sale to come along (okkkuurrrrr) and 9 weeks to deliver, ughh. I also wanted the clear ceiling fan so I had to hunt that down. The last find were our accent chairs. I debated between a bench at the end of the bed or chairs. We ended up with a pair of club chairs which I ended up liking pretty well.The accent wall is definitely a statement piece in the room. Most people think that it is wallpaper but It is actually stenciled on the wall. It ended up being about the same price as wallpaper. Our guest room was not our priority but we already had a lot of what is in there. Most of the items we purchased to go somewhere else but just ended up working in there. I definitely worked from the bed since that is the focal point of the room. I bought the striped headboard from Walmart and the bedding is the VCNY Home Avondale 3 Piece Duvet Cover Set. It features a classic Hotel Bordered design and is available in 3 other colors. I previously had a white comforter on this bed but because guests actually stay in this room the VCNY duvet works a lot better. Since the bedding is a duvet I slipped the old comforter right in there. I added the palm leaf pillows and because I'm a big fan of palm leaf print and stripes and we went from there. The chairs are a vintage set of chairs from my mother in law that we sprayed black and had the cushions upholstered in white fabric but as I'm typing this I think It would be so cute to have the cushions palm leaf print!
